“ Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” (John 17:17 KJV) But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” (Hebrews 5:13-14 KJV)Īnd having said that, let me give you a short dissertation on the word “sanctification” as it applies to “eating the meat” that the Lord has set before you. “For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. That’s the Scripture, and now for the question: “Do you fear Him enough, Brother Thomas, to eat all the meat that He puts on your plate?” Well, I certainly hope so! The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.” (Psalms 111:1-10 KJV) He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name. They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness. The works of his hands are verity and judgment all his commandments are sure. He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen. He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant. He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion. His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever. The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation. The “111” must be very important, but just how does it apply? Now ain’t that neat? I mean, believe it or not but today is 11/11, and you’re going on an 11 day journey for Jesus. In fact it was only this morning, as I sought the Lord for His direction on what to put in this letter, that He gave me Psalm 111 just for you. “ The more we do for God the more we are indebted to Him for our sufficiency is of Him, and not of ourselves.” (Matthew Henry) What an awesome opportunity for you to serve the Lord God Almighty with your life! Amen? Because you see the Almighty has given you this mission trip for two very important reasons: (#1) to minister in song to the youth of Uganda and (#2) to encourage Marty Martinez to join us in our efforts to help Jimmy Swaggart. Two things: I just wanted to say ‘thank you’ for your most recent ministry newsletter and also give you a Word from the Lord concerning your upcoming journey to Africa (12/5/08-12/16/08). An Open Letter To Thomas Sloan, Former Jimmy Swaggart Worship Leader
